For more than one year now, my brother has been in rehabilitation. I am really impressed with his power, mindfulness and humour. During my master thesis, he helped me a lot, gave me inspiration, and improved my spelling. In my eyes he is more than strong.

My First Open Air Concert as a Power Wheelchair Driver
I got an invitation to see the Beatsteaks in Berlin at the famous open air stage Wuhlheide. They serve up the finest punk and rock & roll, made in my favourite Berlin districts of Kreuzberg and Treptow.

It was our second dinner together. Continue reading Monday

Now I’ve broken my neck. Irreversible paralysis. All four limbs affected. It really couldn’t be much worse. Just three more vertebrae to go. No breathing on my own, no head control, neurological damage, stroke, coma, death.
However, I am a survivor and my brain still works. Still, it is a hard time to stay positive. This is why I started listing all of the things that have changed in a positive way after my spinal cord injury. Continue reading How to Stay Positive After Being Paralyzed by a Spinal Cord Injury
Beelitz Heilstätten
More than 100 years ago there were no antibiotics to treat tuberculosis. This is why the hospital city of Beelitz Heilstätten was founded in 1898, in the middle of nowhere with 60 buildings in Brandenburg. The deep forest setting is probably the best environment to offer conservative air, water and light therapies.
Weihnachten and Other Nice Things
This month I was more active than the last five months. My first trip out of the hospital area was a tour with Continue reading Weihnachten and Other Nice Things
